It’s been a few months now since Jaws terrorized his last guests at Universal Orlando.
It seems the savvy shark had one more bite left in him.
For a while now, we have been told Universal’s formal announcement about the expansion to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter would happen on June 18. The day, of course, that the boy wizard celebrated his two year anniversary at Universal Studios. The news everybody knew was coming, didn’t Apperate.
We learned that chemicals from the Jaws attraction have seeped into the ground in the former Amityville. The result is toxic soil that could be harmful to guests and have delayed building. Universal recently filed for approval of a staging area for construction work for both Potter and the Transformers attraction – a project being rushed by the park.
Contruction on 722 has been stalled until the ground is healthy again. Likely, we’ll see a considerable amount of land being moved, but no actual construction.
We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
