Ashley is back with another journey into Disney media…

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Explorers was the first ‘freemium’ game to have my attention. After tending to our baby, coming from work and finishing my homework, I now unwind with working through different social exploration titles on Facebook. So far, Disney has had the most interesting titles.
I wanted to see how Disney was going to use the basic game shell and make it unique. The premise of this game focuses on conservation and tending to animals in your preserve. The game is powered for free with energy. These “lightning bolts” provide the measurement for completely Hidden Item levels.
Players face basic, but entertaining, challenges. Complete levels, placing items on your preserve, and expanding areas for certain animals. My favorite activity is competing against friends in levels that use backgrounds from Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.
Early this week, we spent a few hours in the park and walked past many locations that should be recognizable to game players. Keep an eye out near Expedition Everest and you’ll spot a game local.
The game’s use of animals that sets it apart from the dominated town managing themes, but its graphics are not as advanced as others. Often the images freeze on my MacBook Pro and is slow to load, especially the challenge icons on the side.
Certainly, the central theme of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park come into play here – respecting nature and focusing on conservation to keep our world beautiful.
