     August 27

1964Mary Poppins premiers at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

     August 28

1989 – Jim Henson and Kermit the Frog leave their imprints and signatures on the courtyard outside the Great Movie Ride at Disney-MGM Studios.

2003 – Mickey’s Philharmagic, the newest attraction at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, runs through its first test run with guests.

     August 29

2011 – Disney’s Aulani Resort and Spa opens its doors for the first time.

     August 30

2001 – The Disney Cruise Line welcomes its one-millionth guest.

     August 31

1939 – Walt and Roy place a deposit on a plot of land on Buena Vista Street in Burbank, California.  The $10, 000 down payment will secure the building of their modern animation studio.

1973 – Ward Kimble, a Disney Legend, officially retires.

2009 – The Walt Disney Company announces the purchase of Marvel Entertainment for the bargain price of $4 billion.

     September 1

1989 – Claudine Masson walks through the gates at Disneyland.  From Chatearoux, France, Cladudine becomes the 300-millionth guest at the resort.
