September 3

2005 – The Disney Magic returns home to Port Canaveral from its first adventure on the West Coast.  The ship spent the Summer taking guests to the Mexican Riviera

September 4

2001 – Tokyo DisneySea holds its grand opening.  The nautically themed park is the new addition to Tokyo Disney Resort

2004 – Walt Disney World suffers its 2nd closing since 1971 as Hurricane Frances pummels Central Florida.

     September 5

1912 – Animator, Disney Legend, and one of Walt’s ‘Nine Old Men’, Frank Thomas is born in Santa Monica, California

1994 – Disney World’s 20, 000 Leagues Under the Sea ‘temporarily closes’.

September 7

1911 – Disney Legend, and Master Animator Fred Moore is born in Los Angeles, California.  Moore was involved in some of the studios most loved films like Dumbo, Pinocchio, and Peter Pan.  He was also a Mickey Mouse animation specialist

1984 – Morocco, the first new pavilion added to Epcot since the parks opening, opens its doors.  The king of Morocco sent his royal craftsmen to lay the tile work and paintings

1994 – Guest number 1 billion walks through the gate of Disney World.  Mary Smith and her family are awarded lifetime passes and a cross-country flight to Disneyland

September 8

1998 – Mr. Toad takes his last Wild Ride at Disney World.
