Sarah Kay & Phil Kaye, Project VOICE, perform “an orgin story”, the story of how they began. Project V.O.I.C.E. (Vocal Outreach Into Creative Expression) is a national movement that celebrates and inspires youth self-expression through Spoken Word Poetry. Conceived in 2004, Project V.O.I.C.E. encourages young people to engage with the world around them and use Spoken Word Poetry as an instrument through which they can explore and better understand their culture, their society, and ultimately themselves. Project V.O.I.C.E. brings together performance, writing, and a supportive environment to inspire youth to recognize that their views are significant, valid, and necessary.

  1. this teaches me that YES a boy and a girl can be just friends…..only when they know friendship seems more permanent than a romantic relationship….priorities are people, not how you are related to them

BUT yeah soul mates don't have to be romatic. BUT THIS IS NOT IT

  3. "when we are old and you no longer can remember my face, I will meet you again and again" is so beautiful. It made me cry.

  4. I don't know, but this sounds like actual love to me…the love you have after years of marriage, when routine rules the day. This is love, not the hopped-up version you get in the movies. This is the love that makes something last 50 years.

  5. I think that this poem was amazing and you could tell that they meant every word they said with all their heart. I love it!

  6. I finally saw this live last week–and was blessed enough to meet them–and even if I basically know this by heart I found myself crying. Their bond is so strong and so magical! So neat! Gives me hope in friendship. 😀
