  1. I always wondered whether the asteroid wasn't a black op by the federation government to gain support for their war against the bugs.

  2. I love Star Ship Troopers I have watched it more then 20 times and its good and has aged very well! That cant be said about what came after!

  3. At least it's way better than the book. Way, way better. The book literally steps away in the middle to proselytize about how black people in America would be better off if they beat their children a lot. I'm not fucking kidding.

  4. i love the movie… well aged and the satire works excellent, especially now considered how escalated and sick the patriotism/militarism/propaganda in many nations incl the US has become.
Also that the "heroes" are not the ones actually doing the main mission at the end I find a fresh take, them saving their friends and then going on getting the brainbug too would be too clichee and silly.
Just never touch the sequels people! those are garbage.

just FYI: seeing how far medical advances are established in this movie i find no criticism for the excessive violence and lack of protection during the games and training. Makes sense that such society and especially the morons and jarheads disregard safety even more then the YT morons these days.

  5. Only now I recognized the stupidity of thinking that a helmet would have saved that soldier from a bullet to the eye…

  6. If you want to understand Starship Troopers you just have to look back to when and where Paul Verhoeven grew up. He lived under Nazi occupation In the Netherlands during WWII. The movie is about how he saw Germany abuse propaganda to send youth to fight and exterminate who they considered vermin, aka the Jews, Pols, Russians, French and British. It's about how pointless its all is and humans make no attempt to communicate with the bugs they're different so we kill them. The Novel came under fire too for supposedly praising fascism Robert Heinlein the author was an American who also lived through WWII and wrote about how he saw youth affect by the war all around the globe, and how they start to question their actions.
