New Delhi Chennai Super Kings defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets in the 23rd match of the 14th season of IPL played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium here on Wednesday, thanks to the brilliant performance of their batsmen. Hyderabad won the toss and bat first, scoring 171 runs for three wickets, which Chennai achieved by losing three wickets in 18.3 overs.
Rituraj Gaikwad scored the highest 75 runs for Chennai with 12 fours off 44 balls. Apart from him, Faf Duplessis scored 56 runs on 38 balls with six fours and a six and Moeen Ali scored 15 runs. Suresh Raina scored an unbeaten 17 runs.
This is Chennai’s fifth win in six matches from Chennai and now it again tops the table with 10 points. This is Hyderabad’s fifth defeat in six matches and the team is at the bottom of the table with double digits. Rashid Khan took three wickets for 36 runs in four overs for Hyderabad.
